Racing across the state of Georgia, cyclists will travel six days and over 650 miles in this internationally recognized event. Similar to the Tour de France, fifteen teams from over twenty countries are expected to compete. Beginning in Augusta, GA on Tuesday, April 18th, North America’s premier professional cycling event includes six stages with the final stage on Sunday, April 23rd from Cumming to Alpharetta. The Ford Tour de Georgia’s finish line is on Morrison Parkway at Haynes Bridge Road with a Grand Finale of six exhilarating laps. Official beneficiary for the event is the Georgia Cancer Coalition. Artist tents will line Milton Avenue along with theatrical performances, live musical entertainment and festival cuisine adding to the atmosphere. In addition we will have “Art In Action,” a children’s interactive art area offering young art enthusiasts the opportunity to create their own original artwork at the festival.
